Deep Tissue or Swedish Massage?
Hey, sweet friend!
If you are new to the massage world, it might be difficult to find which would be best for you. There are two factors that come into play when it comes to choosing what type of massage: what you need, and what your preference might be.
Benefits of Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is known for being the classic massage using gentle flowing movements to help calm and relax the client. It helps relieve stress, improve circulation and flexibility and encourages lymphatic drainage.
Swedish Massage is best for you if:
You want to unwind and relax
You’re new to massage and prefer a gentler touch
You experience general muscle stiffness but no deep-seated pain
Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is for deeper layers of connective tissue that can cause chronic tension. This uses firmer pressure to break up pressure points and adhesions that cause chronic muscle pain. Deep tissue can relieve knots or stiffness and improve mobility, but it can be a little less relaxing due to the firmer pressure.
Deep Tissue Massage is best for you if:
You experience chronic muscle pain or tightness
You have knots and tension that don’t respond to lighter pressure
You overuse muscle groups or engage in repetitive physical activity
